Summary: Mozart was a very famous composer, he wrote 600 pieces in his short lifetime including The Magic Flute.
By the time he was seven, he could compose music as he played it, without having to write it down first. He was an expert at this improvisation on the keyboard in all sorts of styles, could play with keys hidden under a cloth, sight-read anything he was given, and he had taught himself the violin. He also had "perfect pitch"- which meant he could sing any note without having to hear it first; and he once astonished a family friend by remembering that there was a slight but noticeable difference in the two violins even though he hadn't heard the friend's fiddle in weeks!

His father had a big influence on him. Leopold Mozart was a very talented musician and he was somewhat well known. They had seven children altogether but only one was alive when Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart was born four and a half years later. Nannerl quickly showed she was very talented, and her brother taught himself some of   Nanerel's pieces and he too showed he was very talented. Their father thought the world should know that he had a guineas on his hands. Their father saw nothing wrong in using Mozart and Nannerl to make money. He took them to Europe and England to play for all the Kings and Queens.
